I have been taking pictures for as long as I can remember and it has always been a favorite hobby...it's just my subjects that have changed...
As a kid, I was content to take pictures with my drugstore camera of animals and toys around the house. As a young adult, my interest changed to wildlife and landscapes, or anything else I could get to sit still long enough to capture with my 35mm which was passed down through my family. It wasn't until I had been teaching for years and had 2 little ones of my own that my interest switched to children and families. When my daughter was born I reluctantly switched from film to digital, and I haven't looked back since.
Years teaching in a Montessori classroom have taught me to watch and observe children carefully, and all the years photographing them have made me even more aware of their pure joy and beauty. There is simply nothing better than capturing that in a snapshot to preserve for years to come...
